This is what I do to keep my acoustic guitars humidified in the dry winter months. It beats spending $15-20 for a store bought version that does the same job. If you want it to look less homemade, paint the top cover black. Have fun. Don’t forget to recycle. (The drumming sound that you might hear in the background on the video?….the drummer who lives next door.)

Hi, I’m currently housing my five rat girls in a ginormous 75 gallon aquarium. No worries about air supply and boredom, the top is always open and I keep a humidifier running for my asthma and for them and the tank is filled with plenty of fun things to do. I got the tank from a friend who housed fish in them, and it’s a bit murky. I’ve cleaned it, but haven’t really been able to get the whitish spotting off of it. Any suggestions? Please help, I’d like it to look a little more presentable, especially since it’s so huge.
