Humidifier for babies with phlegm or stuffy nose?
Choco-cupcake asked:
My 2 month old sometimes has difficulty sleeping because of phlegm or stuffy nose. How does the humidifier work? Is it really useful?
His nose is allergic to cold temperature.

The air however can also attract other pests like fleas.

A doctor recommended a salt saline solution - you can make with natural organic sea salts and evian spring water - this clears the nasal passages - dampen a paper towel and let them breathe it in, you can’t really use too much salt
Also, I take organic clove and sprinkle around the room to block all alergens and really has been very effective
Once my daughter was a bit older, I broke her fevers with applying hydrogen peroxide to a paper towel and kept it on her forhead all night - it’s the only way she could fall asleep

Generally, to treat allergy, you must remove the allergy in the environment. since your baby is allergy is cold. try to lower your room temperature, but not to extent that your room is too warm. too warm and too cold can dry the nasal passage. either cold (this wont lower the temperature too much) or warm will be fine as long as it can humidify the room. it is best to inclined (like on the carseat) the baby while sleeping. this will help on easy breathing. if you notice that the mucous is liquified, try suctioning with bulb syringe (you can buy this at drugs stores) to help on removing the secretions. but, do not force the bulb too much because this will damage the nasal tissue if you insert it too much. If you think your baby cannot breathe, it is best to hold your baby upright and bring your baby to emergency
