How do I clean my humidifier?

I recently bought a cool mist humidifier. It smells slightly musty and am wondering how to clean it. The back of the box says to use vinegar weekly. Do I fill the entire 2 gallon humidifier and let it run, stinking up my entire house? Do I wipe down the insides? Any other ideas?

  1. I think it’s like cleaning out a coffee pot. Use white vinegar and fill it up. I would wipe down the insides also those things are great mold collectors so clean it well.

  2. The insides and bacteria that can form in the water this helps kill molds and when you refill it add.
