Should I use a humidifier in South Florida?

We have had a couple of cold fronts blow in this week and my son’s voice has been a little hoarse, he has had a slightly stuffy nose, breathing heavier at night and has been generally cranky. He is 7 months old. I am not sure if it is allergens in the air or that the air is drier than normal. I don’t think the symptoms are severe enough to be a cold.
