As the water evaporates, mineral deposits (hard white granules) from my water build up on the drum (I expect mostly silicates, but don’t really know). Is there something I could soak the foam in that would desolve the residue?

I figured it out ..the problem was that the humidistat was set to high therefore keeping the solenoid valve open and keeping constant flow of water going
